History
Liberty Bearing Corporation was founded in 1984 as a supplier of plastic and stainless steel ball bearings, specializing in bearings for the photo finishing industry. Liberty’s ongoing tradition of unequaled customer support started early in its history as it met the demands of customer requests for many types of spare parts; from ball bearings to diverse consumables used in the photographic industry. The growth in product range and customer diversification led Ron Green, CEO and founder to conduct business as Liberty Photo Products, Inc. despite keeping intact the legal name, Liberty Bearing Corporation.
Meeting the varying needs of the industry paved the way for growth into other areas of expertise including a full range of equipment replacement parts, production supplies, innovative equipment, wide format and desktop inkjet media, inks, software, inkjet refill consumables, lifestyle photo products, medical peripherals, and retail products. To further improve its standing and commitment to excellence, Liberty became an ISO 9001:2000 certified company in 2006.
Through recent acquisitions and expansion, Liberty further strengthened its ability to serve the photo specialty retailer and broaden its product offering to include Kodak paper, film, and chemistry. Liberty acquired the assets of Minilab Supply Store and ProLab Imaging Products in the spring of 2007. Minilab Supply Store and ProLab Imaging Products, both based in Plymouth, Minn., continue to be operated as divisions of Liberty.
In 2008, Liberty Bearing Corporation appropriately changed its legal name to Liberty Synergistics, Inc. which signifies Liberty’s ability to leverage its reputation for delivering top-notch customer service, logistics, and sourcing
know- how to a cross-section of existing retail customers with diverse product
ranges.
