Description
Buyer
– Special Projects
|
Buyer will use
the purchase process to work with suppliers on assigned commodities
to assure lowest overall cost, on-time delivery and acceptable
quality.
GENERAL

to: VP Global Sourcing

Location: San Clemente, CA
|
PRINCIPAL
RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Job
scope will involve procurement of specialized products for
all Liberty locations
- Work
closely with procurement Planning and Logistics
Coordinator
- Initiate,
process, and communicate purchase orders on professional
photographic products
- Negotiate,
establish, and monitor price, terms, and conditions with
vendors
- Locate
evaluate, and select appropriate vendors
- Resolve
and improve vendor returns, invoice discrepancies, and
quality issues
- Analyze
sales history and forecast future requirements
- Expedite
or postpone delivery as required
- Assist
Sales and Customer Service with their inquiries
- Assist
with sourcing new products
- Work
with Receiving and Suppliers on receiving discrepancies
and quality issues
- Establish,
document, implement, and maintain related quality
management system to continually improve effectiveness in
accordance with ISO 9001:2000 requirements
- Current
Commodity Assignment:

- Other
products and commodities may be assigned as needed.
ESSENTIAL
SKILLS
- Must
possess excellent verbal and written communication
skills
- Able
to exercise tact and discretion as it relates to
confidential strategic and tactical situations
- Knowledge
of local, regional, national, and international
shipping requirements
- Must
be able to multi-task, prioritize, and work well
under pressure.
- Must
be knowledgeable of ethics in “fair practice”
purchasing

EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s
degree from an accredited institution or equivalent
work experience
- 3-5
years related purchasing experience in an
appropriate buying responsibly
- Computerized
purchasing and accounting system knowledge is
required
- Familiarity
with ERP and MRP systems desired
- Must
be proficient with use of MS-Office and other common
software products.
